ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The Wildlife Rescue Technician programme develops technical capabilities for wildlife rescue operations across challenging environments. The programme covers aerial, confined-space, underground and open-water rescue, as well as rescue operations involving mud and unstable surfaces. Training also introduces rescue equipment management, basic rope systems, ascending and descending techniques, radio communication, advanced first aid and CPR, oxygen therapy and AED operation. The curriculum further addresses species-specific behaviour and stress, safe restraining, evacuation and transportation, advanced medical triage for wildlife, wildlife tracking and monitoring, wildlife orphan reunion techniques, and human-wildlife conflict mitigation.
