ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The Anti-Poaching Commando Course is a comprehensive, hands-on program designed to equip rangers, wildlife officers, and conservation security personnel with the tactical, technical, and wildlife-specific skills needed to counter poaching and illegal wildlife trade. Built around rigorous physical fitness training, the course develops participants' understanding of commonly poached and trafficked species, animal behaviour, and the safe handling of large and small Class 2 species, including restraint and release techniques, chemical capture, advanced animal first aid, and humane field euthanasia.
Alongside wildlife expertise, trainees gain essential operational and tactical capabilities, including tracking and navigation, surveillance, unarmed combat, firearms practice, basic jungle warfare, ambush tactics, survival skills, and off-road driving. Quick Reaction Team exercises sharpen their ability to plan for situations, kit up efficiently, and respond rapidly through realistic simulations. The course also covers field first aid and CPR, communication protocols, incident reporting, and the legal requirements for prisoner handling, ensuring that every graduate operates effectively, safely, and within the law in the defense of wildlife.
