ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
This course trains personnel in the safe and effective rapid descent from a helicopter slithering simulation platform using a slithering (fast) rope. It begins with safety precautions, covering equipment inspection, hand and foot techniques, aircraft safety procedures, signals, and emergency actions. Trainees then progress to slithering without load, mastering body position, grip control, and landing technique. Next, slithering with load builds proficiency in descending with equipment, and loads while maintaining control and balance. The course concludes with night operations.
