ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
This foundational programme introduces participants to OSHA regulations governing trench and excavation rescue, soil composition assessment, cave-in evaluation, and stabilisation and shoring techniques using wood, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. It builds the knowledge and practical skills needed for victim rescue and recovery and safe incident termination in confined space and trench emergencies.

CAPABILITY DEVELOPED THROUGH TRAINING
Classify confined spaces and apply relevant regulatory entry standards
Test and monitor atmospheres and apply ventilation controls before entry
Select PPE and respiratory protection appropriate to identified hazards
Perform non-entry and rope-based retrieval of a casualty from a confined space
Package and extract casualties through vertical and horizontal openings
Coordinate a multi-casualty confined space rescue under incident command
