ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
This advanced programme covers rescuer safety, team evaluation and pre-planning, supplied air breathing systems, atmospheric monitoring and communications systems, and rope systems for confined space entry and rescue, in accordance with NFPA 1006 standards. It builds the technical competence needed to plan and conduct complex confined space search and rescue operations.

CAPABILITY DEVELOPED THROUGH TRAINING
Assess and classify confined spaces and identify associated hazards
Conduct atmospheric monitoring and apply ventilation control measures
Select and use PPE and respiratory protection appropriate to the hazard
Rig and operate rope, tripod and mechanical retrieval systems for confined space rescue
Perform casualty assessment, packaging and extraction from confined spaces
Coordinate advanced, multi-hazard confined space rescue operations under incident command
