ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The Maintenance Technician Course (Masters) is a 17-day advanced programme building on foundational maintenance training. It covers physics and electricals, welding, fibreglass theory and practical repair, fabric repair, IRB storage and repair, valve and puncture repair, OBM theory, troubleshooting and basic and advanced OBM maintenance, scuba diving equipment maintenance, theory of motion, densities and materials, high- and low-pressure compressor repair, advanced IRB repair, Field Maintenance Unit (FMU) setup, and basic computer-based inventory management.
WHO THIS PROGRAMME IS DESIGNED FOR
Equipment maintenance technicians progressing to advanced/masters level
Personnel responsible for boat (IRB), OBM and compressor maintenance
Technicians responsible for scuba diving equipment upkeep
Personnel setting up and running a Field Maintenance Unit (FMU)
CAPABILITY DEVELOPED THROUGH TRAINING
Physics, Electricals & Welding
Apply core physics, electrical and welding principles to equipment maintenance work.
Fibreglass & Fabric Repair
Carry out fibreglass theory-based repair and fabric repair and upkeep.
IRB & Valve/Puncture Repair
Store, repair and maintain IRBs, including valve and puncture repair.
OBM Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Apply OBM theory to troubleshoot and carry out basic and advanced outboard motor maintenance and repair.
Scuba Equipment Maintenance
Maintain scuba diving equipment to operational standard.
Compressor & Advanced IRB Repair
Repair and maintain HP and LP compressors and carry out advanced IRB repair.
FMU Setup & Inventory
Set up a Field Maintenance Unit and manage basic computer-based inventory.
