This programme introduces participants to advanced first aid, evacuation management, automated external defibrillator (AED) use and oxygen therapy. It provides the essential life support skills needed to stabilise casualties and manage emergency evacuations effectively

CAPABILITY DEVELOPED THROUGH TRAINING
Perform scene safety assessment and primary / secondary patient assessment
Deliver basic life support, CPR and airway management across age groups
Operate an AED and manage cardiac and choking emergencies
Control haemorrhage and manage shock and trauma casualties
Immobilise spinal injuries and splint fractures using correct technique
Triage and manage patients in a mass casualty incident and complete structured handover
